I love old black and white movies (movies today don't compare), Alfred Hitchcock, James Stewart, Grace Kelly, Tippi Hedren, Bette Davis, Katharine Hepburn, Cary Grant, Ginger Rogers, I Love Lucy, Alfred Hitchcock Presents just to name a few. I love reading biographies on all my favorites too. I got to meet Tippi Hedren twice which was awesome. I love all animals, The Redskins, Tarheels, sweaters, the four seasons, laughing, snow, and Christmas!
I love train travel in old movies, it always looks so elegant. "The Palm Beach Story" and "Without Reservations" are some others that I can think of.
ReplyDeleteIt is very elegant, and the actors always look so relaxed. Train travel today is more modern (of course) but the trains back in the early 1900s were beautiful and more personal. :)
DeleteI'm with Alyssa. I think train travel looks elegant and romantic. I would love to travel by train; of course, I want to do it in the 1940's! I suppose I think I am going to run into Gary Cooper or Cary Grant on my train.
ReplyDeleteA couple other films which feature train travel: "Crash Dive," "Stella Dallas," "I'll Be Seeing You," and "The Major and the Minor."
I find the old films to have elegant and romantic trains as well. :) Cary Grant sure made it that way in North By Northwest. And you both are correct with the other films including train travel.
